New year new you right? With the new year just around the corner, we know things like cutting out sweets and high sugar treats tend to be on the forefront of your mind. However, we’ve got some not-so-healthy habits that you can cut out of your life that could be holding you back from hitting your other healthy living goals.
Work Outs You Hate
Honestly, unless you’re physiotherapist has you on a strict rehab regimen, there really isn’t a reason to have to go lift weights 3x a week if you don’t want to. I’m not saying you should skip your workouts but instead replace it with something you like instead like HITT, barre, yoga, running, or spin. There are plenty of options out there if you aren’t currently digging your fitness routine.
The scale is just giving you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity. Focus on measurements and how your clothes are fitting instead of how much you weigh. Remember, muscle is more dense than fat so it weighs more but it also takes up less space.
Always Saying Yes
Have you ever said yes to something that you really didn’t want to do and then dreaded doing after? Whether is be a social event or agreeing to take on another project at work. This year, practice saying no to avoid stretching yourself too thin and get rid of that dread of doing something you really don’t want to do.
Cut those toxic people out of your life. Those negative folks aren’t your friends – they’re dragging you down. Let them go and see how much happier you feel without them in your life.
Negative Self Talk
To add to the last point, cut that nonsense out of your own headspace. I know we are hardest on ourselves but you just need to cut yourself a break. Silence that inner critic and be kind to yourself. And don’t forget to treat yourself 😉
